The Trip

Saigon's energy, and one of the great modern links two hours down the coast.

Saigon is not a golf town in the way Hua Hin is a golf town — and that is rather the point. You come for a city that never quite stops, and the golf is the reason you can justify a week of it. The courses within reach are strong, and one of them is genuinely world class.

Three rounds: Vietnam Golf & Country Club and Twin Doves near the city, and The Bluffs Ho Tram — Greg Norman's dunes course on the coast. We build The Bluffs as an overnight rather than a day trip; it is two and a half hours each way, and the course deserves better than a car journey at both ends.

Green fees, caddies and private transfers all handled.

The Week

A suggested shape — every day flexes to your group, your handicaps and your pace. Nothing here is fixed in stone.

Day1

Arrival

Private transfer from Tan Son Nhat to your hotel in District 1. Evening at leisure — rooftop bars, street food, or a quiet dinner. Saigon offers all three within a block.

Day2

Vietnam Golf & Country Club Round 1

Thirty-six holes on the city's eastern edge — the established club in Saigon and a straightforward, enjoyable opening round.

Day3

At leisure

The Reunification Palace, the War Remnants Museum, Ben Thanh market, or the Mekong Delta as a day trip. Saigon rewards a day off the course.

Day4

Transfer to Ho Tram — The Bluffs Round 2

Two and a half hours to the coast, and Greg Norman's links laid over enormous natural dunes. Consistently rated among the finest courses in Asia. Overnight at the resort — this is not a course to rush.

Day5

Return to Saigon

A slow morning on the coast before the drive back to the city. Afternoon at leisure.

Day6

Twin Doves Golf Club Round 3

A private club north of the city, immaculately kept and quiet. A civilised finish to the week's golf.

Day7

At leisure

A final day in Saigon — the tailors, the coffee, the markets, or a last long lunch.

Day8

Departure

Private transfer to Tan Son Nhat in good time for your flight.

Where You Stay

Saigon has two hotels at the top and no third. Park Hyatt and The Reverie are the two best in the city — they differ in character, not in class. We would rather tell you that than invent a tier to fill a gap.

Classic

The benchmark

Park Hyatt Saigon — restrained, beautifully run, on the square in District 1. The safe choice, in the best sense of the phrase.

The statement

The Reverie Saigon — opulent, Italian-furnished, entirely unapologetic. You will have an opinion about it, and it will be a strong one.
