The Bluffs Ho Tram Strip — Greg Norman's design on Vietnam's southern coast — is ranked among the top 100 courses in the world. It is not optional for any serious golfer visiting Southeast Asia. From Ho Chi Minh City, it works either as a day trip for those with limited time or as an overnight stay for those who want to experience the resort properly. We recommend staying overnight — the course earns it. Ho Chi Minh City itself adds one of Asia's most energetic urban experiences alongside the golf.
Saigon at night is one of Asia's great urban experiences — the energy, the street food, the rooftop bars above the city lights. At least one evening in District 1 on the streets, and at least one dinner somewhere that takes the food seriously. Ho Chi Minh City delivers both without effort.
Hanoi is the least explored of Vietnam's three golf regions — which is precisely why it rewards those who include it. Van Tri Golf Club is widely regarded as the finest course in northern Vietnam. The city itself is one of Southeast Asia's most atmospheric — the Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake, the café culture and the jazz bars that appear on no list but reward the curious visitor. Combine Hanoi with a night on Ha Long Bay and the trip becomes one of the most complete short breaks in the region.

Vietnam's 1,650-kilometre length means weather varies dramatically by region. The central coast, the north and the south each have different optimal windows — we always advise on timing before confirming any itinerary.
Dry and warm. Peak golf season on the central coast. Book early for March and April.
Cool season. Ha Long Bay at its clearest November to March. Excellent playing conditions.
Dry season in the south. Hot but manageable. The Bluffs plays year-round but is best in the dry window.
